Q: How do I keep my important documents, photos, and data safe?
A: There are a number of ways to ensure that the important things on your device aren’t just on your device. If it were to get lost or broken, then you would lose all of those important memories and information. I can walk you through the steps necessary to ensure that the things which are most important to you stay safe. I’m a father of three boys and I would be absolutely heartbroken to lose those photo memories. I can help you make sure that you don’t lose your’s either.
Q: I just got a new phone, do I have to put all of my contacts back in one by one?
A: Before the arrival of cloud services, you would have. If you have a smartphone now, there is absolutely no need to repeat this process. This also holds true for your calendars, notes, and so many more services. I can help you synchronize those items so that they are no longer tied to a single device, but allow you to go from device to device without losing a beat along the way.
Q: What is “The Cloud”?
A: The cloud is a complex network of services running on different servers around the world. It can store documents, photos, synchronize and backup mobile devices, and so much more. It seems complex, but in reality is works just like the servers and systems of large companies. They offer so many benefits to the individual user that companies like Apple and Google started offering those services to consumers. I can walk you through the complexities and help you understand, benefit from, and even appreciate the cloud.
Q: Can I print from my mobile device?
A: Yes. I realize the irony of running a company called “The INKLESS” and helping people to use printers, but I also understand that not everyone is ready to make the leap to a paperless lifestyle. As much as I don’t personally use them, I can certainly help you set them up and attach them to your mobile devices through your wireless network. (I can build you one of those if you don’t have one)
Q: I read/heard that the newer update for my device has lots of problems, should I wait to update?
A: First of all, you shouldn’t take your tech advice from news outlets. If you want to know about medicine, you go to a doctor. If you want to know about installing a new bathroom, you go to a contractor. If you want to know about your tech, talk to a tech consultant. I typically update my own personal device months before the updates are released to the public so that I can be sure of the pitfalls, bugs, as well as the awesome new features. I have walked many people through updates to their devices and have never lost their data or crashed a device beyond repair. Bugs and glitches may happen, but that’s normal with everything. I can help you through the transitions and guide you to update at the best times.
